CPA, MBT, PFS, CFP
Ed is a graduate of Saint Norbert College and continued his education at the University of
Minnesota Carlson School of Management, receiving his Master’s Degree in Business Taxation
(MBT). He successfully passed the exams to become licensed and certified as a Certified Public
Accountant (CPA), Personal Financial Specialist (PFS), and Certified Financial Planner (CFP).
Ed became a partner in a local Twin Cities firm in 1980. In 1986, he founded Ryan, Hodgins &
Associates CPAs, where he serves as managing shareholder and specializes in business tax
consulting, estate and retirement planning.
While serving clients over the last twenty-five years, Ed has also served the community. His
volunteer work includes Loaves and Fishes, Habitat for Humanity, Church Finance Council, Bible
Quizzing Coach, and “Ask a CPA” Volunteer. He also participates in public speaking
events relating to tax and financial planning.
Ed is originally from Chicago, Illinois. He and his wife, Mary, and their ten wonderful children
reside in Minnetrista, Minnesota. His interests include; golf, tennis, triathlons and scripture
study. He and his family are parishioners at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish.
