Edward M. Ryan, CPA, MBT, PFS, CFP, MA
Shareholder/Managing Partner 


 

Ed is a graduate of Saint Norbert College and continued his education at the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management, receiving his Master’s Degree in Business Taxation (MBT) and the University of St. Thomas receiving his Masters of Arts (Catholic Studies). He successfully passed the exams to become licensed and certified as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Personal Financial Specialist (PFS), and Certified Financial Planner (CFP).

Ed became a partner in a local Twin Cities firm in 1980. In 1986, he founded Ryan, Hodgins & Associates CPAs, where he serves as managing shareholder and specializes in business tax consulting, estate and retirement planning.

While serving clients over the last thirty-five years, Ed has also served the community through volunteer work including Loaves and Fishes, Habitat for Humanity, Church Parish Trustee and Finance Council, Bible Quizzing Coach, and “Ask a CPA” Volunteer. He also participates in public speaking events relating to tax and financial planning.

Ed is originally from Chicago, Illinois. He and his wife, Mary reside in Minnetrista, Minnesota and their ten wonderful children are all on their own. His interests include; golf, tennis, and scripture study. He and his family are parishioners at St. Boniface.

 

Brad R. Hodgins, CPA, MBT 
Partner 


 

Brad graduated from the University of South Dakota and successfully completed the exam to become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He went on to receive his Master’s Degree in Business Taxation (MBT) from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management.

His areas of expertise include; developing business plans, corporate financial and tax planning, business consulting, fringe benefit planning, estate planning and business valuations.

Upon graduation from college in 1991, Brad joined Ryan, Hodgins & Associates CPAs. During his career with the firm, Brad has conducted various seminars on topics regarding fringe benefits, business structure, new tax laws and various tax planning topics.

In addition, he has participated in volunteer activities including “Ask a CPA Call-In Day,” “Taxline 11”, Habitat for Humanity, Sharing and Caring Hands, and VEAP. He is also a charter member of the University of South Dakota’s Accounting Advisory Board.

Brad is originally from Sioux City, Iowa. He is a four-time NCAA All-American swimmer and a black belt in Tae-Kwon-Do. He and his wife, Tamara, have five beautiful children.
